Redwise Delivers Catro IX with Catro X
Redwise recently delivered the Malaysian built landing craft Catro IX under own power from Singapore to Azov, followed by the Don-Volga canal passage and Caspian Sea transit under tow. The entire voyage was co-ordinated and managed by Redwise on behalf of the vessel’s Owners. Carried on deck during the voyage were the Damen built personnel transfer vessel Catro X and containers with spares.
Redwises’s operations department prepared the security plan for the HRA transit, vessel hardening etc. handled the Suez Canal passage and the preparations for the Don-Volga transit at Azov. The Don-Volga transit was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Russian authorities. Because it is prohibited for foreign flagged vessels to transit that inland waterway system under own power, a towing and a pusher tug were used. Redwise arranged for a representative to join the convoy, on behalf of Owners, during this part of the passage. Each stage of the process was carefully planned and co-ordinated.
