Milestone for CAPE Holland
For the installation of the NAM L13-FI platform in the Dutch sector of the North Sea, a large 960kgm Vibro Lifting Tool was successfully used by Scaldis’ Rambiz.
With the tool it picked up a 4.7m diameter, 40.5m long and 360t weighing monopile from a barge, upended it to vertical position and drove it at 0.2° (well within the 0.5° required tolerance) verticality without any gripper frame or seabed installation frame.
A vibro hammer drove the pile down to 6m before the target penetration and an impact hammer completed the job. After this Scaldis installed the column and topside.
