Expansion Wijnne Barends Logistics
Wijnne Barends Logistics has recently more than doubled its storage and handling capacity in the port of Eemshaven. The extension encompasses the purchase of two areas, with a total of 4.7ha.
The first area measures around 2.7ha located at the Julianahaven. The second area of 2.0ha is new terrain located at the Beatrixhaven, adjacent to the company’s current location. The expansion gives Wijnne Barends Logistics the opportunity to better serve offshore wind customers.
To prevent dangerous situations like loads being transported between the two areas and also to comply with the International Code for the security of ships and port facilities (ISPS), the Municipal Council of Eemsmond now has granted permission to Port Authority Groningen Seaports to close the part of the road (Westlob), which separates both areas, making it no longer generally accessible.
