HFG Awarded Albatros Offshore Transformer Module Contract
Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) has been awarded the Procurement & Construction contract of the Albatros Offshore Transformer Module by Siemens. The ultimate client is EnBW Energy.
The OTM is part of the Albatros offshore windfarm. This offshore wind project, with sixteen Siemens Gamesa wind turbines, each with a capacity of 7MW, is located 105km from the coast in the German sector of the North Sea, approximately 100km from the East Frisian Coast in close proximity of the planned EnBW Energy Hohe See windfarm. The OTM will have a weight of about 1,000T. Construction is due to start in the Q1-2018 at the Heerema yard in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands, in order to be ready for sail away Q1-2019. The OTM, with a transmission capacity of 116MW, is one of the main components of the offshore grid connection.
