Ballast Nedam Renewables: Breaking New Ground, On- and Offshore Together

Ballast NedamTwo years after a partial sale of the offshore activities, Ballast Nedam is again presenting itself in the market for sustainable (wind) energy. With Ballast Nedam Renewables, the company uses its knowledge and expertise internationally for onshore wind, offshore wind and solar parks. With this expansion the construction company is working on a sustainable future.

Renewables develops, designs, realises and manages sustainable energy systems. Director Arno Uiterweerd: “25 years ago we were the first to build an offshore windfarm in the Netherlands. We have a European track record of 18% and that corresponds to more than 500 installed monopile foundations. We are now expanding this strong base with solar parks and onshore windfarms.” Renewables stands for passion, independence and inventiveness. Mr Uiterweerd: “We are free in the choices we make, so our solutions are always ‘best for project’.” The first international partnerships and construction team agreements have already been signed for Renewables. Mr Uiterweerd: “Ballast Nedam was already strong internationally, but since we became part of the Renaissance Group, we are even better able to serve the international market for sustainable energy, from idea to maintenance.”

Renewables shows the passion to apply sustainable energy in a society that demands it. This stems from the social responsibility that Ballast Nedam feels and wants to take. This was effectuated in April 2017 with the signing of the Sustainable Development Goals Charter of the UN. As a result, sustainability is approached integrally and is not just an ambition but a trade framework.
