W2W Vessel Arrives in Delfzijl


W2WToday, a new milestone in Wagenborg’s walk to work (W2W) project was achieved with the arrival of the Blue Queen in the port of Delfzijl. Upon arrival, the offshore vessel moored at the shipyard Royal Niestern Sander. In the upcoming ten weeks the vessel will be converted from a standard platform supply vessel to a W2W emergency response and rescue vessel.

Wagenborg Offshore has been awarded a six-year contract by Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) and Shell UK Exploration & Production (Shell UK)) for the provision of a second W2W vessel. NAM and Shell UK work together in a combined business unit on the gas production on the Southern Northsea. The vessel will support its offshore operations. This long-term contract was signed 13 November by the directors of the companies. The vessel will operate as a standby and support vessel for inspection and maintenance of the unmanned platforms in both Dutch and British waters.
