Naming and Launching Hull 775


Hull 775On Thursday, 3 May, the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) named and launched the first of two RoRo ships for the SIEM Group, which will charter out the vessel on long term bareboat charter.

The Alf Pollak will be delivered in October 2018 and is chartered by the Italian shipping company Onorato Armatori. The two ships operated in the Mediterranean on routes to and from Sardinia and Sicily. They are the largest RoRo ships in the Mediterranean, as they can carry up to 310 semi-trailers The FSG is known for its innovative designs both in terms of fuel consumption and transport efficiency. The ship reflects the shipyard’s experience with this type of ship and has the following dimensions: length (overall): appr. 209.79m, breadth moulded 26.00m, depth to main deck: 8.60m, depth to top deck: 22.70m, lane meters  4,076.
