Moonen Martinique: Timeless, Innovative, Beautiful

MoonenThere was a real sense of pride in the air among the assembled workforce as the first Moonen Martinique came out of the main building hall at their last week. As she was launched into the water by a giant crane, staff and guests alike admired the graceful looks on display for the first time.

The sunny weather made the celebratory mood all the merrier, as the superyacht’s name Brigadoon was unveiled. This splendid 36m motoryacht, the second in the Moonen Caribbean design family to be launched to date, will now undergo rigorous Moonen sea trials to ensure that everything is working to perfection by the time the owners take final delivery. If you do not happen to see Brigadoon as she cruises around the Mediterranean for a summer of adventures, you will find her on display at both the Cannes and Monaco boat shows in September. According to Webster’s dictionary, a brigadoon is ‘a place that is idyllic, unaffected by time’. This definition certainly holds true for this timeless superyacht, a genuine beauty of construction and design that takes a fresh and eco-friendly approach to the signature Moonen aesthetic while leveraging on the company’s unique DNA of comfort and performance.

Brigadoon is also very innovative as she is the first superyacht to have a hull made of high-tensile steel, offering significant savings in terms of fuel consumption as well as other benefits. A sister-ship in the Moonen Martinique line is now under construction with delivery in early 2020. Moonen has carefully selected a number of respected interior designers to suggest styles for the yacht, and the new owners will have every chance to customise the boat in a wide range of ways.
