Well Intervention Specialists Wellpro Group Launched
Wellpro Group, a new well intervention start-up, expects to create seven jobs within its first year of trading after announcing its move to premises in the Granite City.
The business, which is primarily focused on well intervention and thru tubing tools, has been established to meet the demand for innovative solutions within the well intervention market in the UK and European markets as well as other major operating locations globally.
The three founding members of the business together have more than 75 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr Jim Thomson, CEO and Mr Scott Fraser, Technical Director, were formerly managing director and UK manager respectively at Wellvention prior to its sale to ALS. Meanwhile, Mr Grant Forsyth, Operations Director was most recently Regional Manager at Hunting Energy.
Wellpro Group is based at 534m2 office and workshop space on Auchmill Road, Aberdeen which provides a platform to expand the business and the existing team, with the firm actively recruiting for several key positions. Within its first weeks of trading, the company has held positive discussions with operators and service companies while it is also currently in the process of a significant investment in new equipment. With a commendable reputation in the sector, the founders are confident of building a global business with focus on technical leadership and delivering best in class products and service. Mr Thomson comments, “As a start-up company, we are entering the market at an exciting time as the demand for innovation continues to grow. We believe we can bring something unique to the well intervention and thru tubing sector, through our use of new technology, collaboration, superior service and response. Wellpro Group is not limited to the UK and we aim to expand the business globally. Going forward, we will be hiring best in class personnel and working towards ISO and FPAL standards and accreditations to serve our clients.”
Thru tubing technology has experienced significant growth in the oil and gas industry over recent years as companies seek faster, safer and more cost-effective methods to re-enter and work on wells. Wellpro Group aims to develop new technology, improve current solutions and provide clients with the quick turnaround required within the thru tubing and well intervention sector.
The business is in the process of setting up an integrated QHSE management system and currently working towards ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
