NHV opens helicopter base at Zeeland Airport
NHV has started its helicopter services in support of Ørsted’s Borssele 1 & 2 Offshore Windfarm. The flights depart from NHV’s recently installed base at Zeeland Airport (Arnemuiden, the Netherlands) to the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore windfarm, located 23km from Westkapelle in front of the Dutch coast.
For the Zeeland Airport operations, NHV has taken delivery of a brand new H145 aircraft, the latest Airbus Helicopter 4t-class twin-engine rotorcraft. With its high hoisting and hover performance and small footprint, the H145 can operate in performance class 1 conditions, while its compact airframe can manoeuvre in the confined environments of offshore windfarms.
This contract also fits in NHV’s long-term strategy to broaden its range of services to the energy market and grow the renewables service alongside the oil and gas service. The NHV Group is also supporting offshore windfarms out of Aberdeen and Ostend.
