SMST gangway fleet for every offshore wind farm

SMSTSMST continues to expand its gangway rental fleet. Not only the number of Telescopic Access Bridges (TAB) is being enlarged, but also the possibilities of the modular gangway system have again been expanded. Latest development is the addition of a height adjustment system that enables safe and efficient transfer of people and cargo in offshore wind farms with large differences in landing heights and also extreme heights.

With this addition, the SMST gangways are ready for operations in every offshore wind park, anywhere in the world. The new height adjustment system ensures comfortable crossing and maximum workability at every level of an offshore platform. By means of a rail system attached to the stacking modules, the height of the Telescopic Access Bridges can be adjusted with a vertical stroke of 17.5m. This enables safe and easy connections with a large window of landing heights. The gangways are therefore suitable for deployment in all existing wind parks and in emerging wind farms in Taiwanese and especially French waters, where the Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm is located.

The fact that SMST is always looking for opportunities to serve the offshore market even better, is also apparent from the earlier addition of a larger gangway to the rental fleet. This modular gangway from the TAB L-Series has an enlarged workability and cargo handling capacity up to 1t. Together with the TAB M-Series gangway, it provides employability for a wide variety of vessels and operational situations, including floating wind applications. In addition to the rental gangway fleet, SMST’s modular mission equipment for the offshore wind market covers a range of gangways for purchase, 3D motion compensated cranes, Access & Cargo Towers and cargo handling equipment. The offshore equipment is supported by a 24/7 worldwide service network with service entities in all upcoming offshore wind areas.
