Wider 32′ to Make US Debut at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

Wider 32x3_PureItalianCreation-CloseUpWider Yachts USA is delighted to announce it will introduce the sleek yet spacious new Wider 32′ to the American market at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on October 30-November 3, 2014. Easily recognised by their axe bows and sleek Italian styling, two Wider 32’s – one featuring an orange hull and the other in green – will be showcased in the water at the Wider Yachts USA display, located at Face Dock 5, south of the Bahia Mar Yachting Center tower.

“The new Wider 32′ is the perfect boat for the US market, particularly in South Florida,” said Darren J. Datson, president, Wider Yachts USA. “A 37-knot express cruiser with a comfortable cabin, it makes a great primary boat, but it’s also designed to be a sporty superyacht tender. Wider encourages owners to customise their new 32′ pretty much to their heart’s content with different equipment, cockpit configurations and colors. In fact, the boat we’ll have on display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has been fully customized with its new owner’s selections, which he made using the Wider 32’ “Create Your Own Yacht” Configurator on the Wider Yachts USA website.”

Italian yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni conceived the Wider 32′ as the ideal tender to the new Wider 150’ superyacht, currently in build at the shipyard in Ancona, Italy, but the boat’s spacious cockpit and interior seating makes it an excellent tender to any yacht with the capacity to garage it or mount it on deck.

The boat’s 9’ 8” beam tapers only slightly towards the bow in order to provide maximum space and ease of movement in the cockpit, and to facilitate boarding from a mother yacht. The versatile cockpit area is designed to accommodate as many different configurations as possible, from an on-deck dining area with folding table to a huge sunbathing platform. The Wider 32′ also comes with an easily installed, adjustable awning to shade the cockpit.

Below, the interior features two long, facing sofas that provide comfortable ship-to-shore transportation out of the elements. They convert to spacious berths for overnighting on board. The galley, with sink, stove eye and refrigerator, disappears seamlessly into the contemporary cabinetry. A surprisingly large head with shower is housed in the bow. Storage is maximised throughout the boat. The hull is designed to provide a smooth ride and exciting performance. Wider utilises a high-tech sandwich hull construction process incorporating GRP skins, closed-cell PVC core and vinylester resin, cured via a high-tech vacuum lamination by infusion system for a superior strength-to-weight ratio. Performance sea trials of the Wider 32′, equipped with twin 260-hp MerCruiser 3.0 TDI diesel engines mated to Bravo 1 DTS drives, recorded a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum speed of 37 knots. This standard diesel sterndrive propulsion package delivers the added benefit of having the tender’s fuel match that of the mother yacht.

While the boat’s distinctive axe bow and stylish lines ensure that it will stand out in any fleet, so does its high level of customization. Wider encourages owners to select from a wide range of hull, inset panel and deck colors; window glass and frames; sunpad and seat configurations; upholstery and accessories, to make their own personal vision of their Wider 32′ come to life.

“The owner is the most important player in the creation of his boat, so his Wider 32′ ultimately will reflect his own individual being,” said Wider President and CEO Tilli Antonelli. “Let yourself be inspired by fragments of your memories to mix and match your favorite styles, colors and materials. Bring all of yourself aboard, because Wider 32′ is made of who you are.”
