The Best of the Belgian Offshore World
On 21 and 22 March 2018, the fourth edition of the Belgian Offshore Days will be held in Ostend. This is a B2B fair organised by Belgian Offshore Cluster (BOC), the association that brings together the Belgian suppliers of offshore wind energy. The B2B fair aims at stimulating cooperation between companies that are active in the offshore industry. Ostend SeaP’ lace “(Hippodrome) will soon gather the top of the offshore world. For two days more than 70 companies, active in all aspects of offshore wind development, will be present with a stand and receive professionals of offshore wind.
Belgian companies are among the world leaders and create a lot of added value and jobs. The sector owes this position to a large extent to its home market. The Belgian offshore wind industry is already fully exporting its know-how in international projects. The Belgian Offshore Cluster wants to support this evolution as much as possible through the Belgian Offshore Days together with its partners, POM Western Flanders, Voka – Chamber of Commerce Western Flanders, Belgian Offshore Platform and Port of Oostende. In addition to the fair, a conference will start on Wednesday morning 21 March, during which the (technological) challenges for the sector will be explained and discussed. Particular attention will be paid to the construction of floating windfarms. During the conference, experts will examine all aspects of floating wind in detail, with presentations on (large-scale) production and commercialisation of floating turbines.
On Wednesday afternoon, Port of Oostende, POM West Flanders and Flanders’ Maritime Cluster will organise an international B2B matchmaking event. This is part of the Interreg project Inn2POWER. Participating companies get the opportunity to establish contacts with offshore wind partners from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, The United Kingdom and Denmark. The morning sessions of day 2 of the fair will zoom in on the maintenance of windfarms. Professionals of Fabriek voor de Toekomst Blue Energy, Inn2POWER, IBN Offshore, OWI-lab Sirris, Marlinks and Imec will provide a comprehensive overview of various innovative trends.
The fair is free for professionals but registration is mandatory.
