MARSIC300 Receives 7th Type Approval

During SMM 2018, SICK has received type approval from Lloyd’s Register of Shipping for its MARSIC300 ship emissions measuring device. A total of seven classification societies have now issued type approval for the MARSIC300.

The MARSIC300 is very low in maintenance. It was developed specifically for measuring maritime emissions of both SOxand CO2upstream and downstream of scrubbers, and NOxupstream and downstream of SCR (selective catalytic reduction) systems. Thanks to its certified calibration filter, the MARSIC300 does not need calibration gas and can be relied upon for high availability. Type approval from seven major classification societies, which together represent more than 90% of the world’s shipping fleet, makes the MARSIC300 the most approved emissions measuring device on the market.

“We feel very honored to have achieved certification from Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. It means that as well as delivering accurate measuring and high availability to our customers, we are providing them with the most recognized and approved product on the market anywhere in the world,” commented Hinrich Brumm, Strategic Industry Manager for Maritime & Combustion Engines at SICK AG.
